A pallet inverter rotates an entire palletised load 180 degrees, so the contents end up on a different pallet or in a new orientation. The function is used in production when a layer of goods needs to be flipped, and in warehousing when a customer receives the load "upside down".
A classic application is moving from a single-use pallet to a EUR pallet without manual handling. The operator drives the pallet in, clamps it, and the machine rotates the entire load in one motion. It eliminates lifting, saves time and reduces damage to the goods.
Pallet inverter or pallet changer?
The two machine types are often used in the same production setup, but for different tasks. A pallet inverter rotates the entire load, so the goods are flipped or transferred to another pallet type in the same motion. If the pallet needs to be exchanged without touching the goods, for example at the entry to a hygiene zone, you need a pallet changer instead.
Choose the type for your needs
Mobile pallet inverters are moved with a forklift and are ideal for lower frequencies and flexible placement. They run on 230V or battery and are ready for use without installation.
Stationary and in-line pallet inverters are mounted centrally and handle many pallets per hour. The in-line variant sits in the conveyor system and rotates automatically, so the flow is not interrupted.
Used pallet inverters offer a lower purchase price and faster delivery, and are supplied with a service warranty after reconditioning and test runs.
Clamp, lift or lock in place
The models differ in how the load is held during rotation. Clamp models press from the sides, lift models have a top plate, and combination models can both clamp and lift. The choice depends on the type of goods and how stable the load is to begin with.
